Sifu Luke shows how to correctly hold and use and keep the beat with the Hok San Drum Sticks. Sifu luke has a program sharing his knowledge and documents of traditional Hok San Lion Dance on his new website with online courses available in September. Despite many racist remarks from jealous incapable wannabes who have no respect, Sifu Luke offers this to everyone as a Native English Speaker, he is the first to give full detailed instruction translating from both Mandarin & Cantonese to English & Japanese.Although these teaching are very controversial we do it because we love to share and spread the essence of true lion dance. Many practitioners of Asian background have tried to learn from Master Siows videos. The truth is there is far too much cheap and nasty copies out there.. Groups calling themselves Hok San simply because they try to copy Sar Ping beats. What is most important is the understanding of the essence, the different meanings behind beats and movement, emotions and energies portrayed within a proper performance. If there is no understanding or not the correct understanding then Bad Habits are trained, WORSE habits are formed and the direction of the group is ends up far from what is intended.There has been much bickering, jealousy and racism towards Sifu Luke. The fact is many are jealous as they do not speak their own language and are trying to grasp something within their culture. The fact is Lion Dance is an art and now a world class sport and Sifu Luke is helping people by sharing the teachings of Grand Master Siow in simple english. Sifu Luke has never trained lion dance under another master, all he knows is Hok San Sar Ping Style. There is no cheap mixed copies in his teachings. Sifu Luke was fortunate enough to be have studied Mandarin & cantonese whilst learning Martial Arts with different teachers growing up. He was able to then do a licensing course in malaysia with master siow and is the first translating and sharing the teachings for everyone as a multi-lingual caucasion Lion Dance practitioner.
