Dec 2, 2008 - Well, I liked this video Meldar (OMG MEL@@) but your gay marriage argument, while correct ;D, was very flawed. In many many ways, blacks and women are still segragated - blakcs way more so than women - in their own social political standings but not legally (although, not isolated enough for intense worry, it's enough to take notice...)...

Dec 2, 2008 - ...but it seems that gays, just like their prodeccesors will always be isolated and/or ostrasized. Also, I think women and blacks (using the examples you used) are a much more defined intity wereas gays can really be anything. So much so that it's so unspecific in my mind to compare them with such specific examples as women and blacks.

Dec 2, 2008 - Still, isn't it up to the state to decide whether gay marriage is legal?; and also, up to the church if they want to marry gays or not, which is fine. Seeing as two states have already ''suceeded'' in that sense, I don't think the president's say is as detrimental as people think. Although you can prove me very wrong if I am.

Dec 2, 2008 - I live in one of those states where it is allowed. The difference between states where gay marriage is allowed as to where it isn't allowed is still very obvious (socially). But the issue here isn't just gay marriage anymore. Now that THAT'S passed, gay "married" couples want the legal benefits too. The tax benefits, the estate planning benefits, government benefits, etc. Gay marriage MAY be allowed, but it's got a long way to go before it is socially AND federally accepted.

Dec 2, 2008 - What's so wrong with gay married couples wanting legal benefits? That's really one of the biggest reasons why I support gay marriage...

Dec 2, 2008 - Black people are "segregated" because they have their own culture seperate from everyone else and enjoy staying cut off in their own little way. It's a society thing, there are no laws limiting the rights of blacks and women but there are laws limiting the rights of gays. Thus we're segregated more than they are.

Dec 2, 2008 - Um, what happened to your accent? By the way, I think it would be more succinct if you made each topic into its own Video. It would be easier to follow.
