the tl;dw version:1. Both the U.S. of A. and typicaly conservative muslim countries define themselfs as good, while the other country as evil.2. The U.S. uses God as a justification for war against "evil", dont be surprised if other Nations use other (or even the same) Gods to justify a war against what they percive as evil.3. The U.S. of A acted on a percived threat, without hard evidence, when causing these wars.3.1. Dont be surprised if other countries act the same.3.1.2. Conservative Muslim Countries feel threatened both militarical, cultural as well as moral by the U.S. of A. and their attempts to gain influence in these countries. Either by opening up the markets by their goods or by stationing troops near them, arming dictators, terrorists, ..., with weapons. This needs to stop, in order to avoid a 2nd cold war. Especialy as this time the other part WILL fight back and has done so on several saddening occasions (9/11).

Nov 18, 2008 - I checked with God. Seems your opinion is right. Not sure if this is a correct fact (but I pwersieve it to be true):The has not been an American president that has not been at war in one way or another.Having an enemy has proven to be the greatest motivator in politics and for spending money.

Nov 18, 2008 - McCain has COMPLETELY sold out to the xtian right(hockey pit bull) and has now become a perfectexample of political doublethink. He is sellinghimself as a maverick just as he abandons allor any independent positions. The evil thing is crazy making.

Nov 18, 2008 - The fact that we are still discussing if notdirectly waging the crusades in 2008 is...exhausting.

Nov 18, 2008 - what so sad, is that I hear a lot of the same rheteroric in a majority of comments, saying that we need a non-christian president. I could see why you would think this way, being that none of the presidents truly exhibited the characteristics of a true christian, I am a christian, but I don't hate muslims or aethist at all. Christ's form of government would not make the rich, more affluent, and the poor, uttertly destitute. It wouldn't discriminate on race either.

Nov 18, 2008 - I have a bad feeling too and I share your view on the canditates. There isnt realy the difference between them I would like to see in a healthy democracy.

Nov 18, 2008 - as much as I hope that america will be able to heal its own wounds, or even better some of the wounds it caused - I actualy would be happy if humanity manages it to get along for at least a short period of time and no new wounds get caused.
bwhahrhr Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I am not sure if there needs to be a non-christian president, one that is able to differentiate between his personal choice he made for himself and state and is albe to remind such almost ancient (at least for the U.S.) values like state & church seperation should be enough.

Nov 18, 2008 - Elaina,Everyone that saw Starwars, any typical Western, or all those other Holywood-Movies KNOWS that good / evil exists. ;)

Nov 18, 2008 - Last time I had a talk with god, he and Allah debated if I existed and then told me to screw myself as I am not propable as both of them cant trust their senses. :-/I wish my subjective universe wouldn't feature gods that wherent agnostics ;)

bwhahrhr Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - I can empathise with your feelings towards the comments to some extent. To me freedom of (and from) religious exercise, wich includes of course presidents and politicians, as well as seperation from state and church are very important and as long as a politician is able to handle this and bridge the gap between his personal belife(s), rational choices and state/church seperation I have nothing against them, per se.

Nov 18, 2008 - Analog with the greek aphorism "γνῶθι σεαυτόν" or "gnothi seauton" (any) God can only exist if she IS agnostic.(just hoping I make sense here)PS: Sorry to hear you are likely just a figment of virtual divine imagination.

Nov 18, 2008 - the flying spaghetti monster is one of the most misunderstood deities in modern times . (I've deleted the rest of my long comment because of the haters out there who would attack my for posting the above statement - however, i did watch and listen to the whole 9:16 minutes of a desultory exposition from a lonely man in a lonely apartment in lonely vienna smoking another lonely cigarette)

Nov 18, 2008 - Exactly! Which is why I disliked McCain's response during the Saddleback interview when asked: Does evil exist? He said yes then named Fundamentalist (YES!) Islamic (Why single out just that one) Religion (and not any other strongly held beliefs?)
