This is a summed chatting about the legendary game, Gradius.I said "released in 1984...or 86 but it was actually released in 1985, sorry, it was a mistake.Ya know, when you get older, one or two or three years (or even more) doesn't make big differences lol ...

Nov 18, 2008 - Haha, I never knew about the Konami Code in Tokimeki Memorial... According to the Internet, it makes Shiori say "Seki desu"....I'd rather have my 30 lives.
lovelyninja Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - er, uh, "Suki desu". >_>;;

Nov 18, 2008 - Ha, Gradius was too difficult for me back in the day. I always died on the "Easter Island" stage =/ The music is so great though. I love the first stage theme. And "Suite Gradius Fantasia" (BY30-5207) is a favorite album of mine.

Nov 18, 2008 - Game no omoshiroi desu ne? I'll admit that I don't have much experience with this game either. And when I did play... I was terrible lol. Even with Life Force (Salamander?) I had trouble. So maybe I will cheat with the Konami code. You know some places sell t-shirts with the Konami code on them?The reason I love the NES(Famicom) is because it had such amazing music. Some games really made you feel like you were in space, even though it was only 8-bit music. It added a level of immersion.

Nov 18, 2008 - Thank you!Especially on Gradious, that was so awesome, they used a different frequency to make the sound "sounds wide' and I never thoguht about it. My favorite instrument is Strings though.
CocoeBiz Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Yeah! it's still a difficult game. I have to admit, that I prefer to watch the game that is played by somebody and I enjoy the scene and music (^^;But Graduis is really a shocking game music ever.
CocoeBiz Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Yes! This is one of the best Famicom game-game music ever! I feel the music was reall well amde, they never lost the image of "space" "Another planet"It's sure a difficult game, but you can use the Konami Command lolIf you ever had a chance to play this, please try it anyway. (^^I personallt prefer to watch players playing the game, and I only enjoy the game scenens and the music lol

Nov 18, 2008 - I tried playing it last night on the Wii and again I only got to level 3 (yes the Maoi section is scary, they are all shooting at you). I tried the code only to discover that I was doing it wrong lol. I will try again today the right way, I might also try the arcade game which is on a Konami DS collection. I'm getting better at Spelunker as well :)

Nov 18, 2008 - fufufu ^^I see, Suki desu word was the hidden stuff from Shiori.I guess I will pass on that. I'm the same as you, prefer to have 30 extra lives insterad of "I like you" told by her. lolI love the word itself "I like you, I love you" somthing like these, but I guess I prefer it to be told from men, not Shinori-chan. lolololol
CocoeBiz Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Oh you actually played it?! Hahah, the Moai stage ... see ... it's scary! lolI don't know if the Konami code works with Wii, I think you have to pose and enter the code, and release.Good luck!!!

Nov 18, 2008 - Gradius is all time classic!! The "Konami Code" which gives 30 extra lives was also very useful in the game Contra.While Gradius on Famicom is super enjoyable of course, I view Gradius 3 on SFC as being my personal favorite in the series. The extra boost of 16-bit graphics really made the space environment come alive for me.Last year when I vacationed in Hawaii I saw a replica of a Moai Head, and I had to take picture of it because it reminded me of Gradius! Hahaha
CocoeBiz Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Gradius 3 was freaking hard! My eyes got mixed up after playing 2 stages... lolYou... really have the same ideas, looking at Moai heads, and think about Gradius stage. (^^;;;
AlucardsQuest Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - The code does work, but unfortunately I'm not doing any better ^^; Instead of DS, maybe I should try the Gradius Collection on PSP. I seem to be better at arcade games than console versions.
CocoeBiz Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - OH! so it does work! Yeah, it's an uneasy shooting game, hope you enjoy with the full armed opition! :)

Nov 18, 2008 - One of my favorite games. The music in all the Gradius games are great. Gradius V is crazy hard if you ever had a chance to play it. Mega Man had good music in it's early games also.
CocoeBiz Says:
Nov 18, 2008 - Hello Toad22484!I watched the Gradius V on youtube... and I thought it was a .... joke!I could not find the "Fighter (player-self)" but all I saw was the bullets and lighting... looks heavily difficult...! (^^;

Nov 18, 2008 - I like how you mentioned the music sounds like it's from another planet. A lot of other game soundtracks in addition to Gradius give me the same feeling.
