Jul 21, 2008 - No, not every wedding. This is a very old skool trick I learned when I first started doing mobile DJing (as an assistant to some GREAT DJs).It's one of thoes things you can do IF the client is cool with it and if the crowd needs some modivation. People LOVE this! It gives them not only the opprotunity to dance, but to mingle with others they may otherwise never meet. It's also a great opprotunity for the photographer to take pictures of a PACKED dancefoor :)

Jul 21, 2008 - SAW her there, rather

Jul 21, 2008 - I use Peter Gun from the Blues Brothers soundtrack. You can use whatever you want, though. A while back, I used Johnny Gun by Freddy Fresh. Anything insturmental that sort of sounds like "Walking" music or "Theme" music should work

briansredd Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - Or no, Tommy Gun.. sorry Fresh. HA!

briansredd Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - It's just friggin' HUGE! I have gig logs from that room posted somewhere

briansredd Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - Yeah, I do. What I need to do is to get that table up a few inches off the floor and put the sub under it. The leg braces are in my way with the table I'm using.

Jul 21, 2008 - How has the price of fuel effected everyones prices???? Guess I am lucky I keep my stuff at the biker bar I play at every week so easy on the back hahah...you mentioned a long time ago that people in Wisconsin are Rockers well seeme almost every wedding you have taped proves that point !!

briansredd Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - People are a bit more frugal which shows in the ammount of gigs my agency is booking as a whole. My prices have gone up a tank of gas :)

Jul 21, 2008 - What would that be like? Techno and/or electro house at a wedding gig? I'd want to do wedding gigs all the time...LOL!

sleeperawaken36 Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - A comment on the guy with the pair of Pyle Pro 8" speakers, and laptop: I am somebody who is not an elitist when it comes to gear, I think a person should work within a reasonable budget, depending on how long they've been in the business, and what they are getting paid per gig, for the area they live in. Considering the area though, this individual was probably getting paid more than his speakers cost him, and I think that is wrong. (cont...)

sleeperawaken36 Says:

Jul 21, 2008 - (cont...) Considering the size of wedding he was doing, and what the area pays, he either should not have taken that gig, or got better gear to appropriately handle the event. He appears to me to have been seeking maximum profit for minimum expenditure. I think he was indeed in for a rude awakening. The other DJ's looked like they brought their gain though :)

Jul 21, 2008 - Nice food, I love it when they feed you good! I never count on it, and I don't expect it, but it's nice when it happens! Good for you, and good gig log Brian! :)

Jul 22, 2008 - You guys want to see the price of fuel in the UK. It has started to go down today but it is still £1.12 ($2.10) per litre ($8 per US Gallon!!!)It now costs me £60.00 to fill my cars tank.

wickedsounz Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - Could agree more matey. I'm from The Peoples Republic Of Yorkshire...some people think thats in England!!!

wickedsounz Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - Brian, another great video. Regarding the use of LED PARS etc for mood lighting etc. I have been looking into expanding my stock to be able to offer this and all being well, should be able to start ordering soon. The market is a little quiet at the moment so its now about 'added value' and 'add ons' to be able to fill the money gap due to reduced bookings. The money crunch will hit home soon and we all need to prepare.Paul.

briansredd Says:

Jul 22, 2008 - Yeah, that's expensive alright. The good news is that you have quite a bit of public transportation & seeing how the UK is about the size of a postage stamp, wherever you may have to go can't be THAT far without hitting water... HA!

Jul 24, 2008 - I kept thinking to myself that how "I be t eh wouldn't be able to play OutKast in this one, at all' yet I was proven wrong..Also Never thought I'd see dancing, at least not that kind of dancing, to Ratt or Motley Crue :)Closet lurker to your vids, figured I had an excuse to make a (somewhat) unique comment, and say hi, too.

Antopac Says:

Jul 24, 2008 - one suggestion: use a small tripod on your dJ equipment.... therefore you would not have to hold the camera while doing your mix....
