***PLEASE NOTE*** The music doesn't start until the film starts in the movie. It sounds confusing when you read this, but it will make sense when you watch it. Also: add this to the end of the web address for this video when watching in high quality: &fmt=18 . Then reload the page. It makes it so that the audio streams in AAC stereo sound for every HQ encoded video. I mean, it takes a lot longer to load, but it sounds A LOT better. In 1929, Russian director Dziga Vertov created one of the first documentaries. This one is about life in Ukraine during the late 20s.The film was revolutionary for using techniques that were either new or were really hard to do, so no one did them. These include: Double exposure, fast motion, freeze frames, jump cuts, split screens, Dutch angles, extreme close-ups, tracking shots, footage played backwards, animations and a self-reflexive style. The result was a film called "Man with a Movie Camera". The film was also unique in that at it doesn't have an official soundtrack unlike most other silent films made in the 1920s. So theaters would have to select what music they would play with the movie. This was explored in 2000 when The Cinematic Orchestra released a version of the film with a jazzy electronic soundtrack, which worked marvelously (I have a copy). This version I made myself, and is synced up with Radiohead's 2000 album "Kid A". So I have aptly dubbed this version "Kid A with a Movie Camera". Besides editing the silence at the end of "Motion Picture Soundtrack" for syncing reasons, I have left the video and audio untouched. Enjoy.NOTE: I might make a high quality BitTorrent download if enough people want me to.
